The Minho region, in northern Portugal, is one of the country’s most traditional areas, rich in ancient customs and cultural heritage. Between the lush green landscapes and the deep blue of the Atlantic Ocean lie some of the most beautiful and picturesque scenery in Portugal.
O QUE ESPERAR
Visit Viana do Castelo, a town embraced by the Atlantic Ocean and the Lima River. The first stop is the Sanctuary of Santa Luzia, placed at the top of the mountain.
In 1927, National Geographic magazine described this viewpoint as one of the most beautiful landscapes in the world, offering a panoramic view over the river, the sea, the mountains and the surrounding countryside. We will then stroll through the historic center and visit several monuments, including a renowned traditional pastry shop. This unique stop offers the chance to taste the town’s most famous regional pastry.
Our next stop is Ponte de Lima, Portugal’s oldest village. Beyond its vital importance in the country’s history, it is renowned for its beauty, gastronomy, and excellent Vinho Verde. You will have time to explore this charming village, enjoy lunch at a traditional restaurant, taste local green wine, and visit the Vinho Verde Interpretation and Promotion Center, where another tasting will take place.
Set along the banks of the Lima River, this village feels truly magical and will transport you back in time.
